Scholarships


Scholarships for attendance at an accredited college, university, trade, or business school shall be granted to active members of the Oregon Army and Air National Guard, Members of the Oregon National Guard Association (ORNGA), and/or their dependant children, or spouses.

These scholarships shall be administered through the Oregon National Guard Charitable Education Fund, Inc. Board, and paid directly to the school designated by the recipient.

Each applicant must be a high school senior, graduate or GED recipient. The applicant must meet requirements for entrance in the school of their choice, be eligible for continued attendance if already enrolled, and submit this application form to the Scholarship Committee by the published deadline. The applicant or their sponsor must be an active member of the Oregon National Guard (with an expiration term of service [ETS] date beyond the end of the academic year for which the scholarship is used), or be a member of the Oregon National Guard Association.

The applicant must have demonstrated traits and qualities of leadership by having participated in school activities, civic activities, and/or life experience; demonstrated a strong motivation for continued higher education; and have shown above average academic achievement in high school and/or college.

Selection of the scholarship recipient(s) is based upon the merits described in the application. The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final. Only one scholarship shall be awarded to any applicant within a two year period. Scholarships are for undergraduate level studies only. Awarding of the scholarships will be without regard to rank, race, religion, creed, marital status, or gender.
